2013 ELT and ELL Conference Calendar for Turkey…with some “sauce”! (The “upgraded” UPGRADE…Ver 7.4)

Around about this time of year…I start looking around to see if there are any decent conferences on the horizon…for those of us in canım Türkiyem.

For those of you with more cash than sense (or a very “generous” institution or Mütevelli Heyeti), there are the “biggies”, of course:

  • 08-12 April 2013
  • IATEFL 2013 (Liverpool, UK) – 47th Annual Conference and Exhibition
  • Theme: Generic

…and a bit of “sauce” could be added with a few others:

  • 14-16 March 2013
  • TESOL Arabia 2013 (Hyatt Regency – Dubai, UAE) – 19th International TESOL Arabia Conference
  • Theme: From KG to College to Career

However, most of us look forward to the “local” events.

Turkey has been getting a lot of good press with its ELT and ELL conferences and conventions over the past couple of years – and this is great!

There’s still a fair bit of horse-trading going on vis-a-vis all those “valuable weekend dates” around March to May – and I really do not want to get meself into too much hot water!

    • I know…we have to change this!

      The next METU convention is not until 2015 ;-(

      Bilkent will probably have another EAP Conference – but not had confirmation of that.

      The INGED Conference will be held in İzmir this year ;-(

      Wot to do? – But, I am “just” the postman 😉

  7. Here’s some more goodies for you T- Ilkbahar Koleji, Bursa on March 16th- no theme as yet. Abdullah Aymaz Koleji, Konya on May 4th- again no theme as yet. Ihlas schools Storytelling conf on April 6th tbc. Mevlana Uni Konya also May 4th – theme tbc. Two gigs in Konya on the same day – they might have to rethink that one. March looking back to back and still waiting for dates from Ankara for Buyuk Koleji, Yuce, etc And Tekden Koleji have a conf on March 2nd – not sure about the theme but a good line up of Turkey based trainers.

  9. And news in yesterday – Ozel Esentepe conf on 16th March and Ozel Genclik the following weekend on 23rd. Speakers and conf titles tbc. Konya shaping up to be the elt place to head for in 2013.
